Harris Distillery (Free Online Event)

1/15/2021

The Gaelic Society of Toronto is Bringing Isle of Harris Distillery to you!

Saturday, February 6 at 2:00 p.m. EST

The folks at Isle of Harris Distillery are known for more than their beautiful gin in the distinctive bottles. Also known as the Social Distillery, they have engaged in numerous projects such as The Harris Cèilidh (online now), The Harris Tweed Project, The Seafood Project and about which we have shared information previously, and The Diaspora Project. The Harris Distillery folks would like to introduce themselves and the Distillery to those in Gaelic communities across the pond.  We're delighted to accept their invitation for them to host an event with us on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. EST.

Register for free here

The Isle of Harris Gin is available in the LCBO - which is actually quite amazing considering how hard it is for products to get "shelf space" in the LCBO! If you'd like to have a bottle on hand for the tasting, check the LCBO's ordering information and delivery times & requirements. All attendees will be entered into a draw to win a Harris Martini Glass set!

Friday Night Ceilidhs going online!

6/14/2020

Picture
Our Friday Night Ceilidhs are going online! Join us Friday, June 19th at 7:30p.m. EDT and we'll continue through the summer for as long as we're "social distancing".

Our Fear an Taigh / host for the evening will be Zach Wallace, fluent Gaelic speaker and poet who has an impressive repertoire of songs. We're pleased to welcome Robyn Carrigan joining us from her home in Cape Breton to lead us in some Gaelic singing. Robyn is a well known singer and musician and we're happy to have her joining us again.

A Ceilidh is all about community and coming together! If you have a story, a song, or an instrument you play, we invite you to contribute - skill level is not the important thing at a Ceilidh, so simply join and tell, sing or play! Most of all, we invite you to contribute with your presence and join us!

Simply fill out the form here and we will send you the (Cisco Webex) link to join in online and the (toll) phone # to call in. Don't have a computer? Call in and join - sort of like a call-in radio show!

A link for the songs will be provided in advance.
There is no cost, free-will contributions to our guest musician appreciated.

If you have any questions, email us at gaelictoronto@gmail.com
