Message from the Chief

A few years ago, a few people got together to determine if there was enough interest to re-establish The Gaelic Society of Toronto. The answer was a resounding yes from those members present at that meeting and from the past members who were surveyed and asked their opinion. The next month, we held our 134th Annual General Meeting and elected a new slate of Directors who were charged with the responsibilities of the revitalization of The Gaelic Society of Toronto. We want and need your ideas and commitment to work with us to fulfill the aims and objects of The Gaelic Society of Toronto.

We must never lose our faith in ourselves and our pride in our past, always remembering that each and every member is essential in an organization that has lasted for 135 years. Our shared vision will continue to inspire us as we continue our journey into the future.

The development and approval of this plan would not have been possible without the commitment and effort of all members, especially the Directors. Given that the plan reflects and builds upon our distinctive strengths, I believe we can move forward to use all opportunities to benefit the Scottish Gael and to build the future of The Gaelic Society of Toronto. Once again, I ask you to continue on this glorious adventure with me as we reflect on our commitment to renewal, build on our strengths and increase our membership.
